D’Banja born as Dapo Daniel Oyebanjo in the northern city of Zaria Kaduna Nigeria into a artillery officer and a church dignitary who came from Shagamu in Ogun State “D’Banja” is a combination of his first name Dapo and his surname Oyebanjo because of his father’s job D’Banja moved several times within Nigeria and abroad to India was his kicks to the nigerianska military school at 11 and is expected to enter the military as his father but at 14 D’Banja introduced to the harmonica by his late brother who tragically died in a plane crash at age 17
