There was a fierce gun battle between the anti -kidnap unit of the Nigeria police force and the abductors during the rescue mission to save the girls. Both girls, age 13 and 14 were kidnapped on the 1st of February 2018 along woji road, Port Harcourt and they were rescued on same day.
However , a locally made gun was recovered from the kidnappers gunned down and efforts are made to arrest the fleeing culprit.
